About Me

I am a Journalism and Media Studies student at Rutgers University with a strong interest in sports media and basketball videography. My goal is to combine digital storytelling with game film analysis to help athletes improve their performance and build their exposure through digital platforms.

Through my Digital Capstone Project, I created Next Level Film Room to explore how sports videography and digital media are transforming how athletes develop their skills and promote themselves.

A high-end mirrorless camera body with a long telephoto zoom lens mounted on a sturdy carbon-fiber tripod at the edge of an indoor basketball court. The camera is pointed toward a polished hardwood floor marked with crisp white lines and a distant hoop out of focus. Nearby, a small open camera bag reveals neatly arranged spare batteries, memory cards, and an external microphone. Overhead arena lights cast an even, bright illumination, creating subtle reflections along the lens barrel and gentle shadows beneath the tripod legs. Captured from a low angle with a rule-of-thirds composition, the mood is focused and anticipatory, conveying photographic realism and a professional sports media aesthetic.

Behind the Lens

This project explores how digital platforms empower standout creators in basketball videography, blending artistry with persistence to build a credible, modern media career.

An array of neatly arranged basketball videography gear laid out on a dark matte table: a compact gimbal with its motors folded, a rugged external SSD, a wireless lavalier microphone kit, ND filters in a soft case, and a sleek laptop displaying a color grading panel. A textured orange basketball sits at the edge of the frame, slightly out of focus, tying the gear to the sport. Soft side lighting from a nearby desk lamp creates controlled highlights on the metal and rubber surfaces, while the rest of the scene falls into a gentle gradient of shadow. Shot from a slightly elevated perspective, the composition feels organized, modern, and intentionally minimal in photographic realism.
A cinematic overhead view of a basketball court model built in miniature, with a detailed half-court outlined in bright white against a rich wooden texture. Tiny, translucent arrows and play diagrams are subtly projected onto the court surface, suggesting strategic shot planning for videography. Along one sideline, scale-model camera rigs and sliders are positioned with meticulous precision. Cool-toned LED-style lighting from above creates crisp, graphic shadows and emphasizes the geometry of the lines. The composition is symmetrical, with sharp focus across the entire frame, evoking a clean, modern, data-driven atmosphere that visually represents planning, creativity, and methodical storytelling in basketball content production.
A dual-monitor editing setup in a dim, focused studio environment, with one screen showing a split-screen comparison of ungraded versus color-graded basketball footage, and the other filled with detailed color wheels, scopes, and adjustment sliders. On the desk, a color grading control panel with glowing RGB-lit trackballs and dials catches subtle reflections. A basketball with a slightly worn leather texture rests on a minimalist shelf in the midground, softly blurred. The only light sources are the monitors and a faint LED backlight strip, creating a cool, cinematic mood with deep shadows. Captured from a three-quarter angle with a medium depth of field, the photographic realism underscores professional precision and the craft of visual storytelling.

What I Offer

A compact, weather-sealed action camera mounted near the base of a basketball hoop stanchion on an outdoor court, aimed directly upward toward the orange rim and crisp white net. The textured asphalt, painted key area, and distant chain-link fence create a layered backdrop. Late-afternoon golden hour sunlight streams across the court from the side, casting long, dramatic shadows and creating a warm glow on the metal camera housing and the hoopโ€™s worn paint. The image is captured from a very low, almost ground-level perspective, with a shallow depth of field that keeps the camera and lower hoop assembly in sharp focus while the background softly blurs, conveying energy, experimentation, and professional yet creative sports videography in a realistic photographic style.

Cinematic edits, motion graphics, and color grading tailored to basketball storytelling. I focus on player highlights, team promos, and brand-specific reels that attract opportunities.

A professional basketball video editing workstation, featuring a large ultra-wide monitor displaying a paused high-definition basketball game timeline in a modern editing software interface. Color-coded clips, audio waveforms, and overlay graphics are clearly visible. The sleek black keyboard, precision editing controller, and studio headphones rest on a matte wood desk. Soft, diffused daylight from an unseen window mixes with a cool LED strip light along the desk edge, creating gentle reflections on the monitorโ€™s glossy bezel. Shot at eye level with a shallow depth of field, the background fades into a soft blur of neutral tones and subtle sports memorabilia shapes, emphasizing a clean, modern, photographic realism suited for a personal professional portfolio homepage.

From scouting reels to social-ready clips, I deliver fast turnaround and consistent style across platforms.
